Before + After: From Stuck-in-the-90s to Light and Lovely

Entry envy for A8 Evergreen Hill, Door County

This staircase was once pure 1990’s—dark carpet, oak everything, and a chunky railing that felt more like a throwback than a welcome.

Now? It’s a total scene-stealer.

We brightened things up with fresh, soft carpeting underfoot and swapped out the heavy railing for a mix of stained maple and crisp white spindles. The new look feels light, fresh, and elevated.

Tucked neatly at the bottom of the stairs, this built-in coat nook adds both function and charm. With hooks for jackets, a bench for slipping off shoes, and a pop of color for personality, it’s the perfect little landing zone for guests coming in from Door County adventures.

What was once a dark, dated space now feels bright and welcoming—thanks to fresh flooring, updated railings, and a clear sightline into the open-concept living area beyond. It’s proof that first impressions really do matter!

A Living & Dining Room Makeover in Door County Vaca Rental A8

This living space got a cheerful glow-up, trading muted tones for playful colors and modern shapes. It’s a fresh, fun take on Door County style—still rooted in the beauty of the woods and water.

The layout stayed (mostly) the same, but the vibe? Totally elevated. I made two sneaky little swaps that changed everything:

  1. The armchairs now swivel—perfect for spinning between coffee chats in the living room and dinner convos at the table. Function meets fun, and yes, guests love it.

  2. We traded the clunky old dining table for a round version that encourages easy flow and better convo. No more traffic jams or awkward seating—just good food and even better company.

Adding white to a space creates a bright, clean, and timeless look that complements other accent colors. Often white surfaces need more maintenance. If that’s a concern, apply white to items that are lower touch, like lighting, window treatments, and art.

This space is all about gathering and relaxing. It’s condensed enough so everyone from the kitchen to the sofa can enjoy each other’s company. A vibrant look with soft to-the-touch feels. A wonderful style that will be a joy to be in during a visit.

The camera doesn’t quite catch it, but this green vanity is just right—charming, not too loud, and totally in tune with the rest of the space. Here are a few more updates:

  • Continued the new flooring for a unified design.

  • Raised the vanity to be the 2025 standard of 36” high.

  • Added a statement mirror.

  • Finished with details of art, lighting, and towel accessories.

While there wasn’t as much to do in the main bathroom, a better paint color, new flooring, and different accessories make a big difference.

From Cluttered to Clean: A Hallway Makeover

What a difference a few design choices can make! In the “before” photo, the upstairs hallway was visually busy with multiple doors in a small space, dark trim, and a mix of finishes. While functional, the overall look felt dated and a bit chaotic.

In the “after” photo, we simplified and streamlined the layout—consolidating what were once two separate bathroom doors into one. This not only improved the functionality but also allowed for a cleaner, calmer hallway design.

We updated the trim to a soft wood tone and painted the doors a crisp white in a modern, shaker style. The walls got a lighter, brighter treatment, making the whole space feel more open and inviting. We also swapped the flooring for fresh carpet that’s neutral and cozy underfoot—perfect for a vacation rental.

And don’t miss the subtle touches: minimalist artwork and a new handrail add just enough personality without overwhelming the space. It’s proof that even a hallway can have a moment!

Bedroom glow-ups for A8 Evergreen hill, Door Co.

This bedroom went from plain and dated to bright, cheerful, and full of charm. We added beadboard for texture, we painted the headboard in a calming blue-green, and playful touches like sunny yellow lamps and patterned valances. It’s the kind of space that feels like a warm welcome—and a restful retreat after a day exploring Door County.

The other guest room also got a dose of personality. A sage green headboard, beadboard detailing, and crisp white walls created the perfect canvas for calming artwork and natural textures. It’s a space that feels restful and fresh—like a breath of Door County air.

Before + After: From Basic to Bright

A stunning Kitchen REmodel in Door County Vaca Rental A8

The previous owners made some solid updates—new countertops, a sleek sink, and updated appliances—but the 30-something cabinets are still holding strong... maybe a little too strong.

b e f o r e

a f t e r

Paired with light-stained maple cabinets, this kitchen balances color and brightness effortlessly. Maple's soft, natural tones provide a warm contrast to the green backsplash while keeping the space feeling airy and open.

b e f o r e

a f t e r

While we appreciate the improvements, it’s tricky to keep the new elements and replace just the cabinetry. The layout feels tight, and the wood tone dominates the space in a way that doesn’t quite match our vision for a fresh, coastal-inspired retreat.

There are several design layout changes that made a huge difference in both functionality and aesthetics.

  1. The cabinetry extends all the way to the ceiling, maximizing storage and giving the space a more polished, high-end look.

  2. The distance between the countertops and upper cabinets is now the standard 18 inches—a noticeable improvement over the previous layout, which offers less clearance.

  3. Everything got right-sized to the scale of the kitchen. The appliances and sink are scaled more appropriately to this condo kitchen - allowing for better flow and function.

Designing a small condo kitchen can be a challenge, but incorporating clever design choices can make it feel both spacious and stylish. In this kitchen, the green tile backsplash brings a refreshing brightness that adds interest without overwhelming the space. The green tones offer cohesion with the rest of the main level, making the kitchen design intentional. The backsplash becomes an instant focal point, adding personality and enjoyment that’s perfect for condo vacation living.

Paired with light-stained maple cabinets, this kitchen balances color and brightness effortlessly. Maple's soft, natural tones provide a warm contrast to the green backsplash while keeping the space feeling airy and open. The light quartz countertops help reflect natural light, making the kitchen appear larger and brighter, even with limited square footage. By pairing these elements, this kitchen is a cheerful, functional space that’s both current and timeless—a true example of how thoughtful choices can maximize style in a compact setting.

When planning a kitchen remodel, start with appliance research. Get a good sense for the sizes you’ll be designing around before meeting with your designers. Also, look at venting options for your range. Style and function are equally important!

#17 Cozy and Coastal: Rowe Furniture in Our Door County Vacation Rental

Designing a vacation rental in Door County means blending comfort, durability, and timeless style—because let’s be honest, a well-designed space makes vacationing even better! For this project, I turned to Rowe Furniture to select furniture pieces that fit with my coastal vibe.

Martin Sofa by Rowe Furniture

Sofa Fabric

The Martin SLEEPER Sofa: Tailored Yet Inviting

A sofa needs to be more than just a pretty face—it has to be comfy, durable, and stylish enough to stand the test of time. That’s why the Rowe Martin Sofa was a perfect fit. Its clean lines and subtly tapered arms create a refined silhouette, while my fabric choice of a dark watery blue, pairs beautifully with the rental’s serene coastal vibe. Plus, the high-performance upholstery ensures it stays looking fresh, even after countless movie nights and afternoon naps. The sleeper part is a queen size mattress.

Times Square by Rowe Furniture

Chair Fabric

Times Square Swivel Chairs: Relax & Rotate

A well-designed seating area needs flexibility, which is why I incorporated the Times Square Swivel Chairs. These chairs bring the best of both worlds: a structured, sophisticated shape combined with the ability to rotate—so guests can easily turn to enjoy the fireplace, chat with family, or soak in the view. The fabric selection complements the blue sofa with a geometric pattern, adding visual interest.

Times Square Ottoman by Rowe Furniture

Ottoman Fabric

Times Square Ottoman: A Versatile Statement Piece

No lounge space is complete without an ottoman that does it all. The Times Square Ottoman, upholstered in a beautiful soft green fabric provides extra seating or a comfortable footrest. I love how the fabric repeats the green used on the powder room vanity and the kitchen backsplash tile for a beautifully cohesive design.

Why Rowe?

If you’re dreaming of a beautiful yet livable vacation home, investing in the right furniture makes all the difference. Our Door County rental project proves that with the right selections, you don’t have to choose between function and style—you can have both.

Looking to update your own space? Let’s chat! Whether it’s your home or vacation retreat, I’d love to bring your vision to life. Visit Angie Schwab Interiors for more information.

#16 Featuring Jorey Hurley’s Artwork in Our Door County Retreat

At our Door County vacation rental, I carefully curated every detail to create a coastal vibe with casual style and vibrant colors that is an inviting space for our guests. A key element of this design is the artwork, which brings the beauty of nature indoors. We are thrilled to feature pieces by artist Jorey Hurley, whose minimalist yet deeply expressive style captures the essence of the natural world.

A Celebration of Simplicity and Nature

Jorey Hurley’s work is known for its clean lines, cheerful color palettes, and ability to evoke a sense of calm. Her pieces highlight the quiet beauty found in everyday nature, making them a perfect fit for our retreat’s aesthetic. The three featured pieces—Egret in Wetlands, Cormorant Over Wetlands, and Chamomile Flower Still Life—reflect the tranquil landscapes and wildlife of Door County.

Egret in Wetlands

Cormorant over Wetlands

Egret in Wetlands & Cormorant Over Wetlands

The wetlands of Door County provide a sanctuary for a variety of bird species, and these two prints bring that serene environment indoors. Egret in Wetlands features a single egret standing in the water, surrounded by lush grasses and a soft, reflective surface. The scene is both peaceful and striking, making it an ideal piece for promoting relaxation. Similarly, Cormorant Over Wetlands captures a solitary cormorant in flight over the same environment, conveying movement and freedom. The pairing of these two prints creates a visual narrative that complements the natural beauty just beyond our rental’s windows.

Chamomile Flower Still Life

Chamomile Flower Still Life

For a touch of floral charm, we chose Chamomile Flower Still Life, a stunning composition that combines soft yellow and white chamomile blossoms against a deep blue background. The contrast of the delicate flowers with the bold backdrop adds a striking yet soothing focal point to the space. Chamomile, often associated with relaxation and calm, aligns perfectly with the atmosphere I want to create for our guests.

Enhancing the Guest Experience

Artwork is more than just decoration—it sets the mood and enhances the overall experience of a space. By incorporating Jorey Hurley’s nature-inspired works, we hope to create a connection between our guests and the tranquil beauty of Door County. Whether enjoying a morning coffee while admiring the wetlands prints or unwinding in the evening with the floral still life as a backdrop, these pieces add a layer of thoughtfulness and joy to our vacation rental.

We invite our guests to take a moment to appreciate these works during their stay and immerse themselves in the peaceful simplicity that both the art and Door County itself have to offer.

#15 Bringing Spoonflower Fabrics into Our Door County Vacation Rental

When designing our Door County vacation rental, I wanted fabrics that would reflect a coastal vibe with casual style and vibrant colors. I turned to Spoonflower, a vendor known for its unique, artist-designed textiles, to find the perfect patterns.

Henrietta by Spoonflower

Henrietta Fabric – A Cozy Touch for the Main Living Area

For the main living space, I selected the Henrietta fabric (seen in the first image). This pattern, with its soft golden blooms, muted greens, and subtle blue accents, evokes the feeling of wildflowers swaying in the breeze. The organic shapes and natural hues tie beautifully into the serene, wooded surroundings of our rental. It adds a cheerful, welcoming feel that makes guests want to settle in and stay a while.

Vintage Abstract Floral by Spoonflower

Vintage-Inspired Abstract Floral for the Bedroom

In the bedroom, I opted for a soft and harmonious abstract floral vintage pattern (seen in the second image). This design brings a touch of vibrant color, balancing warm mustard tones with cool blues and green. The delicate botanical elements create a whimsical, restful retreat, echoing the lush landscapes and charming gardens of Door County.

These fabrics don’t just add visual appeal—they help create a sense of place, blending interior design with the beauty of the great outdoors. Whether lounging in the living area or unwinding in the bedroom, our guests will be surrounded by thoughtful, nature-inspired details.

What do you think of these fabric choices? Would you love to stay in a space designed with nature in mind? Book your stay and experience it for yourself!

#14 Choosing the Perfect Flooring for Our Door County Vacation Rental

When remodeling our vacation rental in Door County, we knew that choosing the right flooring was one of the most important decisions we’d make. As an interior designer and a flooring store owner, we had the perfect balance of style and functionality in mind. Our goal was to create a space that looked beautiful, felt inviting, and could stand up to the demands of a vacation rental.

After much consideration, we landed on a combination of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring in the main living areas and bathrooms, paired with carpeting on the stairs and in the bedrooms. Here’s why these choices were the perfect fit for our newly remodeled getaway.

Luxury Vinyl Plank: The Ideal Choice for Living Areas & Bathrooms

1. Durability & Water Resistance

LVP is incredibly durable, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like the living room and kitchen. It’s scratch-resistant, which is essential for handling suitcases, furniture movement, and sandy shoes after a day at the beach. In the bathrooms, its waterproof properties make it a no-brainer, protecting against spills, humidity, and moisture-related damage.

2. Easy Maintenance & Cleaning

Vacation rentals see a steady stream of guests, which means flooring needs to be easy to clean. LVP doesn’t require special treatments—just a quick sweep and mop, and it looks as good as new. Unlike hardwood, it won’t warp over time from moisture exposure, making it a low-maintenance yet high-end choice.

3. Stylish & Realistic Look

Today’s LVP mimics the look and texture of real wood so convincingly that most guests won’t even realize it’s not solid hardwood. We chose a warm, natural wood tone that complements the serene, coastal feel of Door County, creating a space that’s both elegant and inviting

Luxury Vinyl Plank

Why Carpet Belongs in Bedrooms & On the Stairs

While LVP was our top choice for the main living spaces, we knew that carpeting would be the perfect touch for the stairs and bedrooms. Here’s why:

1. Safety First: Carpeted Stairs Reduce Slip & Fall Risks

Safety is always a top priority in a vacation rental. Hard flooring on stairs can be a slipping hazard, especially for young children or older guests. Carpet provides much-needed traction, reducing the risk of falls. Plus, in the event of a misstep, carpet offers a softer landing compared to hardwood or LVP.

2. Sound Absorption for a Restful Stay

Not everyone in a vacation rental follows the same schedule. Some guests are early risers eager to catch the sunrise over Lake Michigan, while others may enjoy sleeping in. Carpet in the bedrooms helps absorb sound, preventing footsteps and movement from disrupting a restful night’s sleep. This is especially beneficial in a home where families or groups are staying together.

3. Cozy & Comfortable Underfoot

After a long day exploring Door County, there’s nothing better than stepping onto soft carpet in the bedroom. It creates a warm, cozy feel that enhances relaxation—exactly what you want in a vacation retreat.

Carpet

The Perfect Flooring Combination for a Dream Getaway

By pairing luxury vinyl plank in the main areas and bathrooms with carpet in the bedrooms and on the stairs, we achieved the perfect balance of durability, safety, style, and comfort in our remodeled Door County vacation rental.

Whether you’re sipping coffee in the living room, stepping out of the shower onto waterproof flooring, or enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep in a carpeted bedroom, every detail was chosen to enhance your stay.

We can’t wait for our guests to experience it firsthand! Have any questions about the flooring choices in our rental? Contact the friendly folks at H&R Carpets and Flooring for more information.

#13 Adding Personal Touches to Our Remodeled Door County Vacation Condo

When I decided to remodel our Door County vacation condo, my goal wasn’t just to create a beautiful space; it was to craft an inviting retreat where guests would feel right at home. I wanted to go beyond the furnishings and fixtures to add a little magic in the details - the personal touches that make a place memorable.

Here are some of the ways I personalized the space to ensure every guest’s stay feels warm and welcoming:

Custom Coffee Mugs for Morning Moments

One of my favorite additions to the condo is a set of custom coffee mugs. Each mug is oversized and speckled blue, reminiscent of the serene waters of Door County. Designed to perfectly complement a slow morning, these mugs are ideal for enjoying Door County Coffee. Enjoy sipping on the back deck or curled up on the sofa with a book after a walk in the park.

A Guest Book to Share Memories

I included a beautifully bound guest book in the condo’s living area, inviting visitors to share their experiences. There’s something magical about flipping through its pages and reading stories from others who have stayed here. I hope guests write about their favorite Door County activities—kayaking on Lake Michigan, exploring Peninsula State Park, or indulging in the area’s famous fish boils. It will become a living document of joy and connection, and I will be thrilled to see it grow with each passing season.

Thoughtful Local Touches Throughout

Beyond the mugs and guest book, I’ve sprinkled in other local touches that celebrate the uniqueness of Door County. The bedroom features artwork by a regional artist, Vicki Rawlins, from Sister Golden in Fish Creek. She’s been featured on the TODAY show. Sister Golden, along with other spots, are featured in a framed map of my favorite walkable spots.

“Whiteout” Flower Print from Sister Golden

Making It Feel Like Home

For over 20 years, I’ve been designing spaces that provide beauty, happiness, and comfort. I’m so excited to share my design with our guests. Ultimately, what sets our condo apart is the intention behind every detail. I want every guest to feel like they’re stepping into a space that’s unique, not just another rental. I’ve thought about how to make your stay special.

So, whether you’re here for a couple’s getaway, a family adventure, or simply some quiet time to recharge, I hope my personal touches bring a little extra joy to your time in Door County. Don’t forget to enjoy your coffee in one of our mugs and leave a note in the guest book—we’d love to be a part of your story, even just for a little while.

Literal vs. Representational Design: Finding the Right Balance

In interior design, literal and representational styles offer two distinct approaches to conveying themes and ideas.

Literal design uses direct elements that clearly reference a theme or concept. For example, a coastal-inspired room filled with seashell décor, anchor motifs, and ocean-blue tones instantly evokes the seaside. This style leaves little to interpretation, making it a straightforward and recognizable approach.

Representational design, on the other hand, suggests a theme more subtly. Instead of obvious motifs, it relies on colors, textures, and shapes to hint at an idea. A representational coastal space might incorporate sandy beige tones, weathered wood, and soft blue accents to create a beach-like atmosphere—without a single seashell in sight. This approach allows for broader interpretation and a more layered, sophisticated aesthetic.

I typically strive for representational design, but in this case, I made a deliberate departure. The artwork above the headboard is a direct reference to the name of our complex, which itself is inspired by the surrounding landscape. I love this piece because it can be appreciated in every season. It also provides a striking contrast to the crisp white wall. To maintain a natural feel, I paired it with a landscape watercolor on the adjacent wall. The deep mountain hues beautifully echo the color of the carpet, reinforcing the room’s cohesive yet understated connection to nature.

This is a tip that is an oldie, but a goodie! For precise and successful design, get all the room elements selected and purchased before starting implementation. This isn’t always necessary and/or possible but do it when you can. I have a paint color selected for this headboard, but I’m going to wait until the artwork arrives to check it with my swatch before I order my paint.

The Current Space

Primary Bedroom

A8 at Evergreen Hill is managed by Julie’s Park Café & Motel. They do an excellent job of keeping our unit clean and tidy with crisp white bedding in every bedroom. The room has wonderful views of the trees with good natural light.

Design Concept

Primary Bedroom Design Concept

I designed this vacation rental bedroom with relaxation and natural beauty in mind, combining modern comforts with a cozy, welcoming feel. The highlight of the room is an accent wall of painted wood, which adds texture and depth to the space. The headboard will be painted in a soft, calming shade of blue. This feature wall will bring cottage charm, capturing the cozy essence of a retreat while providing a focal point that invites guests to unwind. The wood’s subtle grooves create a pleasing visual rhythm that will complement the room’s minimalist design, giving it character without overpowering the space.

To enhance the tranquil ambiance, the room will be adorned with landscape artwork that reflects the natural surroundings. Each piece was carefully selected to evoke a sense of place, with serene scenes of forests and lakes adding a layer of escapism and tranquility. The artwork’s colors are repeated in the accent wall, creating a cohesive look that feels both fresh and grounded. Together, these elements create a bedroom that’s both stylish and serene, a perfect escape for vacationers looking to relax and recharge in comfort.

An accent wall in a room can be a great way to add interest and to create a focal point. Don’t forget to also enhance the other walls! For design to be successful, keep the eye moving in an ordered and balanced manner. Repetition of color, style, and shape are design principles to apply for a sense of cohesion and harmony within a space.

Inside of Closet

One popular and effective solution for creating a welcoming and organized foyer is converting an existing closet into a compact, functional entry nook. By removing the closet door and adding a bench with coat hooks, we are creating a spot for taking off shoes or setting down bags, while the hooks offer accessible storage for coats. The bench will double as a spot to stash shoes under, helping keep the area neat and organized. This simple yet impactful upgrade will not only maximize our small footprint but will also bring character to the entryway.

The entryway is one of the most important spaces in any home, as it’s the first impression guests get and the transition point for residents. A well-designed entry space sets the tone for the rest of the home, offering a welcoming and organized start. Beyond aesthetics, a functional entryway also adds convenience, making it easier to store items like coats, shoes, and bags, keeping clutter out of the main living areas. Thoughtful entryway design can transform even a small space into a powerful introduction to your home’s style and personality. When planning a remodel or building a home, dedicate a lot of space for both garage and front entry ways.

#7. Designing an Inviting Kitchen: My Vision for A8 at Evergreen Hill

The current space

The previous owners made some solid updates—new countertops, a sleek sink, and updated appliances—but the 30-something oak cabinets are still holding strong... maybe a little too strong. While we appreciate the improvements, it’s tricky to keep the new elements and replace just the cabinetry. The layout feels tight, and the wood tone dominates the space in a way that doesn’t quite match our vision for a fresh, coastal-inspired retreat. So, we’re starting from the floor up and giving this kitchen the full makeover it deserves.

Current Kitchen

There are several design layout changes that I know will make a huge difference in both functionality and aesthetics.

One of the biggest pain points has been the garbage storage. Right now, the trash bin sits openly inside the foyer closet—directly below where guests hang their coats. Having stayed at Evergreen Hill myself, I’ve always found this setup inconvenient and unpleasant. To resolve this, I’m incorporating a dedicated garbage cabinet into the kitchen design, keeping waste out of sight (and smell) while maintaining a clean and organized entryway.

The kitchen will also see significant improvements. I’ve designed the cabinetry to extend all the way to the ceiling, maximizing storage and giving the space a more polished, high-end look. Additionally, I’m adjusting the distance between the countertops and upper cabinets to the standard 18 inches—a noticeable improvement over the existing layout, which offers less clearance.

While an over-the-range microwave is a great space saver, I prefer to keep it separate when possible. The added space makes using the back burners much easier and creates a more open cooking environment. To accommodate both a microwave shelf and the new garbage cabinet, the layout will shift slightly towards the dining room, and the stove will be replaced with a smaller unit.

Lastly, I plan to install a smaller sink, which will better suit the proportions of the kitchen while freeing up additional countertop space—a valuable asset in any kitchen, but especially in a cozy vacation rental.

By pairing these elements, this kitchen design creates a cheerful, functional space that’s both current and timeless—a true example of how thoughtful choices can maximize style in a compact setting.

When planning a kitchen remodel, start with appliance research. Get a good sense for the sizes you’ll be designing around before meeting with your designers. Also, look at venting options for your range. Style and function are equally important!

Selecting Countertops

We took samples to our favorite local countertop supplier to find the perfect option for the kitchen. The white base will brighten the space and tie in beautifully with the doors and trim, while the golden veining complements the cabinetry and countertops. For the green backsplash tiles, I’ve chosen a white grout to create a crisp, timeless look.

#6. Designing a Powder Room with Punch: My Vision for A8 at Evergreen Hill

Right off the dining room is the powder room. It’s a bonus to have a second bathroom while sharing a space on vacation. Everyone has experienced the pain of having to wait their turn for one bathroom.

The Current Space

Powder Room Before

We plan to reuse the quartz countertop and faucet. Those materials are new (done by the previous owners) and fit well with my design goals. The condo was built in 1992. It was standard, in those days, for the countertop to be only 32” off the floor. Today, it is standard to be around 36”. Since everything will adjust up, I selected a light that points up as well. Keeping the mirror large and useable.

My coastal woodland vibe continues with plans for a custom painted vanity cabinet in this gorgeous green from Sherwin Williams. The nickel finishes sparkle and light bounces from the white door, mirror, and lighting. The dimensional frame on the mirror is its own work of art, but I am also including another piece of art titled Birch Spring Batik.

LVP, or luxury vinyl plank, is a popular flooring choice. It has a look of wood with lower maintenance and higher durability qualities. While real wood isn’t always optimal to use in bathrooms due to moisture, LVP is a recommended material. It’s also easier to replace than tile. I like how it will offer continuity with all the flooring on this main level.

#5. Designing a Living and Dining Room Retreat: My Vision for A8 at Evergreen Hill

The current space

The main floor is one open space including a living room, dining room, and kitchen. There is also a powder room on this main floor. Below is a view of the furnished living room when we purchased it.

Living Room Before

One item we plan to keep is the table lamp in the corner. The style fits right along with our intended style, but we plan to paint it white.

I’m keeping the furniture layout similar to the existing space, with a few key updates. The sleeper sofa will be replaced with another sleeper sofa, and I’m adding two armchairs with a swivel feature to allow for easy movement and engagement with the dining area, windows, and fireplace. The current rectangular dining table will be swapped for a round table to encourage better conversation and a more inviting flow.

This gathering space is all about bringing in cheerful color reflecting coastal and woodland hues. Along with cheerful colors, I selected modern shapes seen in the art and textiles.  This space will look lively and inviting while being soft to the touch. Natural light ties it all together, making every corner feel warm and welcoming.

Adding white to a space creates a bright, clean, and timeless look that complements other accent colors. Often white surfaces need more maintenance. If that’s a concern, apply white to items that are lower touch, like lighting, window treatments, and art.

Furniture Layout

This space is all about gathering and relaxing. It’s condensed enough so everyone from the kitchen to the sofa can enjoy each other’s company. A vibrant look with soft to-the-touch feels. A wonderful style that will be a joy to be in during a visit.
